The Burkitbayev Mukhambetkaly Mirzabaevich, D. H. N., Professor, is the head of laboratory.
M .Burkitbayev initiated and became Director for Kazakhstan several major international scientific projects (Kazakhstan-UK) in the framework of the NATO Program "Science for peace", UNESCO, IAEA, ISTC. He founded the University research School for the study of the behavior of natural and artificial radionuclides in the biosphere of the Earth. Funded by International Grants he created a modern laboratory for radiochemistry and radiation ecology, equipped with expensive nuclear instruments and equipment of last generation. With the involvement of International Funds he organized several International seminars and conferences at the University. Translated from English into Kazakh innovative educational complex "Salters Advanced Chemistry (UK). Introduced in educational process educational technology "Micronuclei experiment" (UNESCO project).
Burkitbayev M. is one of the authors of immobilization technologies of radioactive alkali in solid compound based on a metallurgical wastes and mineral resources of Kazakhstan, developed specially for decommissioning and dismantling of nuclear power plants with liquid metal coolant (EXT-350, ,Aktau).
M. Burkitbayev was a member of the International Council by the IAEA on the problems of the former Semipalatinsk test site. He is a member of the editorial Board of Kazakhstan's first scientific journal in the English language "Euroasian Chemico-Technological Journal", "Bulletin of the Treasury. The series of chemical", "Chemical journal of Kazakhstan, chief editor of the journal of the KazNU.al-Farabi International Journal on Chemistry and Biology".
Under the guidance of Professor M. Burkitbayev 8 PhD and 4 PhD theses, one of which is in English were prepared. M. Burkitbayev published more than 300 scientific works, the author of 8 patents. He published articles in international journals with high impact factor.
Burkitbayev M. was the winner of the State grant "the Best teacher of the University" RK (2007). He was awarded by the medals of the Ministry of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan "For merits in development of science of the Republic of Kazakhstan", "Honorary worker of education of Kazakhstan"; Commemorative medals "10 years of Astana", "20 years of independence of Kazakhstan".
Uralbekov Bolat Muratovich, K. H. N., PhD, senior researcher - is a specialist in the field of radiation ecology, Geochemistry and chemistry of radioaktivnykh elements. The main area of his research is the assessment of the radioecological situation in the places contaminated by uranium-industrial complexes. Uralbekov B. M. with collegues developed a reliable method of assessing anthropogenic impact from uranium waste on radio-ecological status of surface water bodies based on the use of isotopic fractionation of radionuclides of the uranium series. Offered a unique isotopic method of identifying sources of radionuclide contamination and assess the migration of radionuclides in aquatic systems, which was used in the implementation of International projects. Uralbekov B. M. co-published over 30 scientific papers, including 8 articles in international scientific journals with high impact factor such as Journal of Environmental Radioactivity Journal of Environmental Monitoring, Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry; one methodical instructions for laboratory exercises; two International report on NATO projects and ISTC.
